Creatures and Enemies in No Rest For The Wicked are wildlife and foes inhabiting the various areas in Solar Sacra. Players can kill both hostile and docile creatures for materials, consumables and loot as they fight to survive the dangerous world they find themselves in. This page covers all the creatures and enemies that the player will encounter, providing links to their dedicated pages that contain specific information such as their categorisation, notable stats, resistances, and weaknesses.

Enemies don't respawn in No Rest for the Wicked

Something that sets No Rest for the Wicked apart from most souls-like games is that enemies DON'T respawn when the player is defeated. Once you kill an enemy, they are removed from the game's world and will not return, even when you leave the area or rest at a checkpoint. Fresh enemies are introduced to previously cleared areas whenever the world state changes or enough time has passed.

Besides from being a unique gameplay choice that distinguishes the game from it's contemporaries, this mechanic rewards the player for acting strategically in certain situations. For example, you are being attacked by multiple enemies at once, and one of them has already been weakened, and you know you probably are going to die. You will focus on defeating that weakened enemy, so that when you respawn, there will be one less enemy to face in that area.

It is also important to know that the positioning of enemies is not reset whenever the player is defeated; instead, when the player respawns, all of the enemies resume from where they were last positioned - knowing this, players can corral enemies into locations that are out of the way, or give them an edge: For example, players can lead a large enemy to a checkpoint so they can quickly retry defeating it.
